The North County Pipeline is a digital publication with original information about North County San Diego you won’t find anywhere else.

I’ll deliver essential news, community events and insights you need to understand the region through the lens of an experienced, award-winning local journalist whose been in the industry for nearly 20 years.

Readers depend on honest journalism to cut through the noise and give them important and interesting local insights relevant to their lives. I’ve spent years at community newspapers starting my career with The Greeley (Colo.) Tribune, Windsor Now!, Lahontan Valley News and The Coast News in Encinitas where I covered all North County cities, the county, SANDAG, features on the movers, shakers, business and interesting people who make this region like no place else.

The Pipeline is a locally owned media company distributing original information about North County in a newsletter. We’ll grow together and as such, we will expand as one, while our anchor newsletter, the North County Grapevine (or The Grapevine), will always remain free.

The Grapevine will consolidate as many events in North County as possible. I encourage nonprofits, community groups, business associations, local governments and the like to submit their events to The Grapevine to expand the reach of their events.

The Pipeline was founded in 2023 to increase news and event coverage in North County. Our local landscape deserves more hyperlocal coverage to bring our readers events, news and information impacting their lives. I also want to thank Carlsbad-based artist Ray Goudey for the company-branded graphics and logos used for this publication.

Stay up-to-date

Here’s how it works: The Pipeline is primarily an e-newsletter but is also published to a website on Substack. Enter your email address and you can subscribe to the free newsletter (The Grapevine), although Substack will have a pop-up to see if you’d like a premium (paid) subscription to the full site. You then choose whichever option best suits you.

Membership costs: $7/month, or $75/year. Members receive access to everything we produce, and they help support a new model of journalism for North County. Unlike other media, our primary customers are our readers, which ensures I’m delivering value to you.

Sign up for the free version and check us out. You’ll get the full edition of the North County Grapevine newsletter once a week (and forever).

You are free to cancel at any time — though we of course want you to stick with us. Since you are our customer, we will work to make sure what you receive is worthy of your investment.
