San Marcos chamber launches workforce, leadership initiatives
The chamber aims to help members recruit and retain employees with a focus on healthcare this year and launches its inaugural leadership development program
A Chamber of Commerce is tasked with providing valuable resources for its members. Whenever I talk with our members, I will always ask what their current challenges are and invariably always comes back to staffing and employment retention.
To meet these needs the San Marcos chamber has recently launched a Workforce Development Committee and a Leadership Committee. The mission of the Workforce Development initiative is to create a program and system where the chamber can be the conduit between students, prospective employees and San Marcos employers. The committee is comprised of educators and business leaders throughout our community.
There will be five, three-hour sessions beginning Oct. 1. The program runs through Oct. 29 at Union Co-work, 251 North City Dr.
