OnlyFans creator pleads guilty in Escondido fetish death
The plea was entered on Wednesday in the 2023 death of a 56‑year‑old Escondido man during a paid BDSM encounter

VISTA — A 32-year-old OnlyFans creator pleaded guilty on Wednesday to involuntary manslaughter in the death of a 56-year-old Escondido man in 2023.
Michaela Rylaarsdam was initially charged with second-degree murder by the Escondido Police Department after Michael Dale died on April 17, 2023, during a paid sexual fetish meetup, according to reports. Rylaarsdam was arrested in February 2024 after a months-long investigation.
Rylaarsdam will be sentenced in June and face up to four years in prison, per reports.
EPD found that Dale had suffocated after he was Saran-wrapped, glued, and duct-taped after he requested a BDSM (bondage, discipline, dominance, sadism and submission) session with Rylaarsdam. Dale paid Rylaarsdam just over $11,000 and made a series of requests in text messages, according to testimony from the preliminary hearing, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported.
According to reports, Dale asked Rylaarsdam to wrap him up in Saran Wrap like a mummy, glue a pair of women’s boots to his feet, place a plastic bag over his head, and pour adhesive onto his eyes to seal them shut, among other requests. Once Rylaarsdam noticed Dale wasn’t responding, she called 9-1-1 and attempted CPR.
