Certificates of Origin are crucial for allowing companies to engage in international trade or the exportation of goods. The CO provides proof of where products are manufactured or processed. Think of the CO as a product’s birth certificate or passport to confirm its nationality.

A CO is often necessary for goods to clear customs in the importing county to comply with import quotas or restrictions on goods imported from certain regions. Companies can also use a CO to claim preferential tariffs or duty reductions under trade agreements between nations.
