OCEANSIDE — Downtown may soon have a new look and feel.
MainStreet Oceanside is finalizing a new brand for downtown complete with logos, style, color schemes, matching signage and much more.
Gumaro Escarcega, chief operations officer of MainStreet Oceanside, said plans have been in the works for nearly one year to re-brand downtown to fit an ever-evolving area. He said one component is to name each district in downtown, although those names have yet to be finalized.
The rebranding is a partnership with the city, Visit Oceanside, the library, Operation Hope – North County and other stakeholders to reinforce the local feel and touch of downtown and draw visitors and businesses. Most importantly, though, the endeavor is to unify downtown.
“We surveyed 2,002 people,” Escarcega said. “The branding was derived from these questions. We’re creating zones that will define each location.”
