Massive development planned for downtown Oceanside
Block 5 and 20 proposes a mixed-use project with 373 residences on two parking lots on North Myers Street

OCEANSIDE — Downtown is likely to see two more mid-rise buildings with one seven-story and on eight-story building part of a mixed-use development.
The project, which features 373 residential units in a mixed-use development, is slated to replace two parking lots along North Myers Street. Known as Block 5 and 20, the pedestrian underpass and walkway at the railroad tracks to connect Pier View Way bisects the property.
The city has seen a flurry of rapid and large-scale redevelopment in downtown over the past several years, although this project is still in its early stages, according to Oceanside Principal Planner Manny Baeza.
Ryan Companies U.S. Inc. is proposing the development. Block 5 will be eight stories, while Block 20 will be seven, Baeza said.
