A quick note before I unplug
After three years of nonstop local journalism, I am taking a second true vacation before returning to cover the stories shaping North County
After three years of publishing North County Pipeline, I’m finally taking a much-needed non-working vacation from July 6-12.
Some of you may remember my column about visiting Japan in 2024, but this will be just my second true vacation since launching North County Pipeline. As much as I love covering North County and staying on top of the latest stories, it’s time for a reset.
For the next week, I’ll be trading deadlines and notebooks for a remote cabin in Minnesota, where I’ll be spending time with some of my closest friends. No TV. No work. Just fishing, fresh air, good company, and a chance to recharge.
I’ll be back on July 12 and ready to dive back into what matters most: bringing you more North County stories, local coverage, and reporting from across the region.
Don’t worry, I’m not leaving you completely. You’ll still receive the weekly events calendar on Monday and the next installment of the Chamber Chat series, featuring the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce on Thursday.
Thank you for reading, subscribing, sharing tips, and supporting local journalism over these past three years. North County Pipeline exists because of this community, and I’m grateful for every one of you.
See you next week.

Enjoy the break. You deserve it!
