CARLSBAD
June 21
Concert time! Join the city of Carlsbad as its TGIF Concerts in the Park returns. The Pine Mountain kicks off the summer series at Stagecoach Community Park, 3420 Camino de los Coches. The concert site opens at 4 p.m. with the show starting at 6 p.m. There will be new security measures, check-in procedures, a bike valet and parking is available at La Costa Canyon High School, 1 Maverick Way.
June 23
Art fans! Join the Carlsbad Village Association at its Pop Up Art: Art in the Village event from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. in Carlsbad Village. The event features 130 fine artists showcasing oil, watercolor, mixed media, glasswork and much more. There will be live music, a cultural arts booth, a food, wine and beer garden, a bike valet and more.

Bike safety! Join the Carlsbad Police Department on June 29 as it hosts a bike and e-bike safety class from 10-11 a.m. at the Cole Library, 1250 Carlsbad Village Drive. Topics include safety tips, rules of the road and city-specific e-bike laws. Space is limited so register here.
Peanuts! Check out a limited run of a “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown” at the Dea Hurston New Village Arts Center, 2787 State St., from June 29-July 1. Showtimes are at 11 a.m. on June 29-30 and 6 p.m. on July 1.
DEL MAR
June 17
Back to the Past! Get ready as The San Diego County Fair returns from June 12-July 7 at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, 2260 Jimmy Durante Blvd. This year’s theme is “Let’s go Retro!” with attractions from the 1950s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and more. The fair includes a catwalk, a musical time warp, a video game arcade, diner delights plus all the rides one can handle. The show schedule is as follows: Whiskey Myers (June 19), Kings of Late Night (comedy, June 21), iLuminate (June 21) and Pancho Barraza (June 23).
ENCINITAS
June 22
Bike safe! Join the city of Encinitas for a 55-and-over bike safety class from 9 a.m.-noon at the Encinitas Community Center, 1140 Oakcrest Park Dr. The class is broken up into three parts: lecture, skills drills, and a guided road ride to put the new skills into action. Space is limited.
Fun in the sun! Join Leucadia 101 Main Street Association for its annual “Summer Fun on the 101” musical celebration at Leucadia Roadside Park, 860 N. Coast Hwy. 101. The event runs from 11:30 a.m.-8 p.m.

Art lovers! Check out the city’s monthly Art Night and enjoy several sites in downtown showcasing film screenings, live music, art demonstrations, workshops and much more.
ESCONDIDO
June 21
Cruise the street! Join the city of Escondido as “Cruisn’ on Grand” returns to downtown. Check out American-made pre-1974 classic, custom, vintage, muscle, and hot rod cars cruising Grand Avenue. Street closures will take place on the side streets Maple St., Broadway, Kalmia, and North Juniper) from Second Ave. to Valley Parkway. The event runs every Friday throughout the summer. The event runs from 4-9 p.m.
OCEANSIDE
June 21
Football! The Beach Soccer Championships kicks off at the Harbor Beach. The popular sand soccer festival features youth, adult amateur and adult pro women's and men's beach soccer as well as vendors, and lots more.

Movie night! Join the city of Oceanside at Buddy Toddy Park, 2899 Mesa Dr., for Movie in the Park featuring “Wonka.” The movie starts around 7:45 p.m.
Parade! Join the city of Oceanside for the Independence Parade on June 29 to see floats, bands, walking groups, cool cars, and more! The parade will start in front of the 101 Cafe at 10 a.m. and will run north to City Hall!
SAN MARCOS
June 22
Be a ranger! Learn how to be a Junior Ranger will earn a badge through interactive, hands-on activities about local plants and animals, nature, conservation, trail safety, and more! Bring bicycles for a chalk bike course and free bike and helmet checks from Sprockid. The event is from 9 a.m.-noon on June 22 at Jack Pond’s Nature Center, 986 La Moree Rd.

Bikes! Join the city of San Marcos on June 24 for the ribbon cutting from 2-5 p.m. at the new Bradley Bike Park. The park features progressive jump lines and a pump track. The grand opening will showcase demonstrations from pro riders, prizes, bike vendors and much more.
SOLANA BEACH
June 17
Attention music lovers. Check out the famous BellyUp. This week’s lineup consists of Elvin Bishop’s Big Fun Trio (today), The Steely Damned 2 (June 18), Matthew Phillips, Lioneer and Cheyenne Benton (June 19), Third World (June 20), Atomic Groove and Saved by the 90s (June 21), Al Stewart (June 23).
June 20
Concerts at the Cove! Partnering with the Belly Up Tavern, the City of Solana beach presents the Concerts at the Cove series, featuring many local musicians performing on the Fletcher Cove stage. Concerts will be held every Thursday night throughout the summer from June 13-Aug. 8, from 6 p.m.-7:45 p.m. This week features The Shoreline Pickers. The event is free and open to the public.
More bikes! Join the city of Solana Beach and San Diego Bike Coalition for an interactive virtual e-bikes webinar from 6-7 p.m. The course will discuss rules of the road, how e-bikes function, maintenance, usage and much more. Register here.
VISTA
June 22
Go for a steam! Check out the Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum’s Antique Engine & Tractor Show from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. The show runs June 22-23 and features dozens of antique engines and tractors, each with their own unique story. Visitors can browse through the various exhibitions, meet the owners, and enjoy live demonstrations of some of the engines and tractors in action! There will also be tractor driving, Milking demonstrations, petting zoo, hayrides, vendors, and much more.
Grab a kilt! Join in the fun as the annual San Diego Scottish Highland Games return from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at Brengle Terrace Park. Guests will be treated to competitions, music, Sheepdog trials, vendors and much more. Buy tickets here.
Farmer’s Markets
The Grand Farmers Market runs from 2:30-7 p.m. every Tuesday on Juniper Street between Grand Avenue and Valley Parkway at Heritage Park. The market has a great selection of produce and meats with a variety of vendors.
The open-air San Marcos Farmer’s Market is year-round and is held every Tuesday from 3-7 p.m. at 251 N. City Dr. off Twin Oaks Valley Road and across from Cal-State San Marcos.
The State Street Farmer’s Market in Carlsbad is every Wednesday from 2:30-6 p.m. on State Street between Carlsbad Village Drive and Grand Avenue. This lively market features amazing produce, organic eats, locally prepared food, live entertainment and an all-around good vibe.
*Note: The State Street Farmer’s Market spring/summer hours are 2:30-7 p.m. from March 10 through Nov. 3.
The Oceanside Farmer’s Market is held every Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the Sunset Market every Thursday from 5-9 p.m. at the corner of Pier View Way and Coast Highway. The popular market provides a delicious display of local produce, meats, flowers and nursery items!
The Vista Farmer’s Market is the county’s longest running market and is every Saturday from 8 a.m.-noon, rain or shine at the San Diego County Courthouse, 345 S. Melrose Dr.
The Cardiff Farmer’s Market at Mira Costa College, 3333 Manchester Ave., runs every Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and features numerous international food vendors, food and plant vendors plus much more!
The Del Mar Farmer's Market is the second oldest in the region and is every Saturday from noon–4 p.m. on the lower outdoor parking lot at the Del Mar Civic Center, 1050 Camino Del Mar. This certified, non-profit market brings to the community a variety of fresh local produce, seafood, fresh coffee, locally prepared international specialty foods to enjoy on-site or to take home, artisan creations, and live music.
The Leucadia Farmer’s Market is every Sunday (except Easter) from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Paul Ecke Central School, 185 Union St. in Encinitas. The market has a great collection of more than 30 certified growers, 10 certified organic and more than 70 total vendors.
The Bonsall Farmer’s Market and Open Air Faire runs from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. every Sunday at Bonsall Elementary School, 31555 Old River Rd. The market highlights fresh garden-to-table locally grown fruits, veggies, hormone-free meat, local artisan cheese and much more.
The Solana Beach Farmer’s Market runs every Sunday from noon-4 p.m. (except on Easter, July 4, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day) The market features organic farmers with nature's finest produce to skilled artisans crafting one-of-a-kind creations, our vendor lineup is a celebration of local talent and creativity.
