CARLSBAD
July 8
Scavenger hunt! Join the Shine Project Foundation for a scavenger hunt in Carlsbad Village. The event runs July 1-31 and the Shine Project specifically designs events for special needs families. Participants must register for the free event.
July 10
Showtime! Join the New Village Arts for their production of the groundbreaking musical “The Color Purple.” The show is based on the Pulitzer-prize winning book runs until July 14.
July 11
Fountain flick! Join the Carlsbad Village Association and 16 supportive local businesses for its annual summer series, Flicks at the Fountain, which began in 2013. The event starts at 6 p.m. and will feature the original and legendary film, “The Little Mermaid.” The free movie begins around 8 p.m. The show is located at the fountain at the corner of State Street and Grand Avenue.
July 12
Concert time! Join the city of Carlsbad as its TGIF Concerts in the Park returns and features The Mad Hat Huckers. The summer series is at Stagecoach Community Park, 3420 Camino de los Coches. The concert site opens at 4 p.m. with the show starting at 6 p.m. There will be new security measures, check-in procedures, a bike valet and parking is available at La Costa Canyon High School, 1 Maverick Way.
July 13
Garden king! Join the Carlsbad Community Gardens Collaborative for its workshop Grow Your Garden: Monarch Pit Stops. The event runs from 10 a.m.-noon and presenting is Jay Klopfenstein. The program also encourages individuals to swap seeds, succulents, fruit, vegetables and learn new gardening techniques.

Wet toad! Check out the legendary band Toad the Wet Sprocket at the Del Mar Fairgrounds on July 17 at The Sound. The show runs from 8-11 p.m. and tickets can be found here.
Opening day! Check out opening day to the 2024 Del Mar horse racing season at the fairground on July 20. Gates open at 11:30 a.m. and first post is at 2 p.m. There will also be a hat contest at the Plaza de Mexico. The season run until Aug. 31. Get tickets here.
ENCINITAS
July 10
Concert! Join the city of Encinitas for its free concert series featuring Kasey Kay, a classical concert pianist, and will dazzle the audience with pieces from Chopin and Bach. The show is from noon-1 p.m. at the Encinitas Public Library, 540 Cornish Dr.
July 14
Beach jam! Check out the Moonlight Beach Concert featuring Bach 2 Rock House Band, Enzao & Layse and Big Sandy and HIs Fly-Rite Boys. The concert begins at 12:45 at Moonlight Beach, 400 B. St.

Concert! Join the city of Encinitas for its free concert series featuring J Kremel Combo, a jazz ensemble, and will include jumpin' and jiving jazz swing, and syncopated, exciting Latin jazz fun for dancing. The show is from noon-1 p.m. at the Encinitas Public Library, 540 Cornish Dr.
Barking mad! The Cardiff Dog Days of Summer is hosted by Cardiff 101 Main Street and the City of Encinitas. The free event is from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on July 21 at the Encinitas Community Park, 425 Santa Fe Dr. is open to the public and features dog-related vendors, rescue groups, and pet adoption agencies. Activities include dog contests, live music, a libation lounge (ticketed), food trucks, and more.
Tasty! Join the Encinitas 101 Downtown by the Beach Mainstreet Association for its annual Taste of Encinitas on Aug. 27. The event features 16 restaurants, 18 sip stops and begins at 818 S. Coast Highway. The TOE runs from 5:30-8:30 p.m. and tickets are here.
ESCONDIDO
July 12
Ride the road! Join the city of Escondido as “Cruisn’ on Grand” returns to downtown. Check out American-made pre-1974 classic, custom, vintage, muscle, and hot rod cars cruising Grand Avenue. Street closures will take place on the side streets Maple St., Broadway, Kalmia, and North Juniper) from Second Ave. to Valley Parkway. The event runs every Friday throughout the summer. The event runs from 4-9 p.m.
OCEANSIDE
July 12
Dance! Check out the Oceanside Theatre Company’s production of the class, “Footloose,” which runs on July 12-14 and July 19-21. The Friday and Saturday shows begin at 7 p.m. and the Sunday shows at 2 p.m. Get tickets here.
Swim! Join the city of Oceanside for a free swim night at Brooks Street Swim Center, 130 Brooke St. Bring the whole family and cool off at the pool under the stars. The event is from 7:30-9 p.m.
Showtime! Join The Star Theatre Company for its rendition of “A Chorus Line,” a stunning concept musical capturing the spirit and tension of a Broadway chorus audition. Exploring the inner lives and bittersweet ambitions of professional Broadway performers, the show features one powerhouse number after another. The show runs July 12-14 and July 19-21. Friday and Saturday shows are at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. There will be two performances on July 20 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Pickleball! Check out the city of Oceanside’s free pickleball night at the Junior Seau Beach Community Center. This event is July 15 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. as part of the city’s celebration of Parks and Recreation Month.
SAN MARCOS
July 12
Movie night! Join the city of San Marcos for its free movies-in-the-park series on July 12 featuring “Trolls Band Together.” Pre-Show activities start at 6:30 p.m. and the movie starts at dusk. There will be food truck options and popcorn is provided.

Concert time! Join the city of San Marcos continues its 2024 Summer Concert Series. Classic Journey performs at the Wood House at Woodland Park, 1148 Rock Springs Rd. The show begins at 7:30 p.m. and tickets can be found here.
SOLANA BEACH
July 9
Art show! Sixteen talented members of the San Dieguito Art Guild (SDAG) have been selected to show and sell their artwork at the Solana Beach City Hall from July 9-Aug. 28. The exhibition will feature a diverse range of art forms, including stained glass, oil paintings, watercolors, sculpture, and mosaics.
July 11
Concerts at the Cove! Partnering with the Belly Up Tavern, the city of Solana beach presents the Concerts at the Cove series, featuring many local musicians performing on the Fletcher Cove stage. The Coronado Big Band will perform and the concert will runs from 6 p.m.-7:45 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
VISTA
July 10
Rock out! Check out the Moonlight Amphitheater’s production of the classic “School of Rock the Musical.” Based on the 2003 film starring Jack Black, the show brings together a down-and-out musician and elementary students as they go on a wild musical adventure. The show runs from July 10-27 and starts at 8 p.m. each night.
July 13
Movie time! Join the city of Vista for its movies-in-the-park series featuring the animated film, “Wish.” The free movie starts at 8 p.m. at the Brengle Terrace Park softball fields, 1200 Vale Terrace Drive.
Farmer’s Markets
The Grand Farmers Market runs from 2:30-7 p.m. every Tuesday on Juniper Street between Grand Avenue and Valley Parkway at Heritage Park. The market has a great selection of produce and meats with a variety of vendors.
The open-air San Marcos Farmer’s Market is year-round and is held every Tuesday from 3-7 p.m. at 251 N. City Dr. off Twin Oaks Valley Road and across from Cal-State San Marcos.
The State Street Farmer’s Market in Carlsbad is every Wednesday from 2:30-6 p.m. on State Street between Carlsbad Village Drive and Grand Avenue. This lively market features amazing produce, organic eats, locally prepared food, live entertainment and an all-around good vibe.
*Note: The State Street Farmer’s Market spring/summer hours are 2:30-7 p.m. from March 10 through Nov. 3.
The Oceanside Farmer’s Market is held every Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the Sunset Market every Thursday from 5-9 p.m. at the corner of Pier View Way and Coast Highway. The popular market provides a delicious display of local produce, meats, flowers and nursery items!
The Vista Farmer’s Market is the county’s longest running market and is every Saturday from 8 a.m.-noon, rain or shine at the San Diego County Courthouse, 345 S. Melrose Dr.
The Cardiff Farmer’s Market at Mira Costa College, 3333 Manchester Ave., runs every Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and features numerous international food vendors, food and plant vendors plus much more!
The Del Mar Farmer's Market is the second oldest in the region and is every Saturday from noon–4 p.m. on the lower outdoor parking lot at the Del Mar Civic Center, 1050 Camino Del Mar. This certified, non-profit market brings to the community a variety of fresh local produce, seafood, fresh coffee, locally prepared international specialty foods to enjoy on-site or to take home, artisan creations, and live music.
The Leucadia Farmer’s Market is every Sunday (except Easter) from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Paul Ecke Central School, 185 Union St. in Encinitas. The market has a great collection of more than 30 certified growers, 10 certified organic and more than 70 total vendors.
The Bonsall Farmer’s Market and Open Air Faire runs from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. every Sunday at Bonsall Elementary School, 31555 Old River Rd. The market highlights fresh garden-to-table locally grown fruits, veggies, hormone-free meat, local artisan cheese and much more.
The Solana Beach Farmer’s Market runs every Sunday from noon-4 p.m. (except on Easter, July 4, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day) The market features organic farmers with nature's finest produce to skilled artisans crafting one-of-a-kind creations, our vendor lineup is a celebration of local talent and creativity.
